Our advisory process

The future is not a matter of chance. It can be planned.

Clarity, step by step. Together we follow a process that is partly standardised. The sequence, the analysis, the planning structure and the advisory topics are standard. Your needs, your goals and your situation at the outset are individual to you.

Four building blocks

From the first question to long-term support.

01

The first product

Information, the Check-Up, the Financial Wellbeing Index and sorting out the disruptive factors. Quick, tangible benefits, and you do not have to buy anything.

02

Retirement planning

Planning for a good life in retirement: a holistic range of topics and the strategic shift from building wealth to using it.

03

Financial Wellbeing

More topics, more life: health, longevity, housing, international options. More collaboration and a better understanding on your part.

04

Ongoing support

Regular reviews, annual updates, adjustments for new stages of life. The aim: a good life.

Five phases

How your advice works.

  1. Phase 1: First steps

We listen and understand what matters to you.

    • Getting to know each other: we start with a no-obligation conversation, ideally in person. Your life, your wishes and your sense of security are at the heart of it.
    • Process and remuneration: we explain how we work, the advisory topics and possible outcomes, and we clarify our remuneration.
    • Financial Wellbeing Check-Up: ten questions that give you a first overview and show where to focus.

Outcome: Our first recommendation, as a rule: sort out the disruptive factors (living will, powers of attorney) so that you stay in control.

  2. Phase 2: Knowing where you stand

    Knowledge brings calm.

    • Values, goals and wishes: all our advice must be consistent with your values. Your goals and wishes are reflected in the strategy and the plan.
    • Analysis: we take stock of your financial situation, goals and priorities: income, assets, insurance, family and planned changes. The Financial Wellbeing Index gives a first overview.
    • Please note: the analysis is extensive and takes time, so it is charged as a fee. Depending on the remuneration structure you choose, it is offset against commissions.

Outcome: We have the facts and know your needs. We know where you stand and where you want to be.

  3. Phase 3: Knowing where you want to be

Today, in 5 years and in 20 years.

    • Strategy, planning and structure: we show you alternative structures and strategies, with their advantages and drawbacks. Together we decide on the broad direction.
    • Using modern financial planning tools, we simulate your options: financial scenarios, retirement, long-term care, inheritance, lifetime gifts, investing, health.
    • The BoomerFinance “Blue Zone”: if you wish, we build health and longevity into your strategy and plan, for more years in good health.

Outcome: The strategic direction is clear. We work out plans and structures: options for your important decisions.

  4. Phase 4: Proposals, decision, implementation

    Your future deserves structure.

    • Recommendations: you receive clear, easy-to-understand proposals for the advisory areas you have chosen, including alternatives.
    • Decision: together we find the right solutions, check them and adjust them.
    • Implementation: we put the strategy into practice efficiently and transparently through our platform.

Outcome: The plan is in place and the advisory topics are being implemented. Financial Wellbeing begins.

  5. Phase 5: Ongoing support

Financial advice is not a sprint but a marathon.

    • Circumstances, wishes and risks change. Ongoing support is just as important as the initial advice.
    • We stay by your side: annual updates, a longevity check, a financial review, new stages of life.
    • Please note: regular updates and services are charged as a fee and, depending on the remuneration structure, offset against commissions.

Outcome: Life changes. Your plan stays up to date.

Individual recommendations for action, checklists, information material and a priority plan for the next steps.

A team, not a lone expert

Today, no one can be an expert in everything.

The world is becoming more complex. That is why we work as a team. Depending on your needs, we bring in specialists in retirement planning, wealth management, financing, property, protection, succession planning, health or international matters. The adviser you started with always remains your main point of contact.

Transparent remuneration

Clearly stated before we begin.

Transparency is an important part of our work. We use different forms of remuneration depending on the situation, and we explain them clearly in advance.

Our code of conduct

The best consumer protection is an informed client.

  • We are committed to advice that is guided by your interests.
  • Our aim is not to sell individual products.
  • Our aim is to help you make better decisions for your future.
  • We refer legal matters such as living wills, powers of attorney and wills to specialist lawyers. We do not advise on these ourselves.
Frequently asked questions

What you may want to know first.

Do I have to buy or change anything?

No. At the start, it is not about buying or changing anything. It is about knowing where you stand: what is already well taken care of, and which topics should you take a closer look at?

I have a specific question, for example about an insurance policy. Why the Check-Up first?

Because people often do not know what they are missing. The Check-Up places your question within your overall situation. Sometimes the more urgent gap lies elsewhere. Then we deal with your question.

What does the advice cost?

The Check-Up is free. The Financial Wellbeing Index is also free. The personal analysis is charged as a fee, and the detailed analysis at an hourly or daily rate. For implementation, depending on the topic, an agreed fee or a standard market commission applies. We tell you all of this in advance.

Do you also advise my partner?

Yes, very much so. We advise everyone involved in the household, because decisions about retirement, financial provision and wealth affect you both.

How long does the process take?

The first steps are quick: an initial conversation and the Check-Up in a single appointment. Analysis and strategy take a few weeks, depending on the scope. After that, we support you on an ongoing basis, with at least one appointment a year.

Can I keep working with my current adviser?

Yes. Financial Wellbeing complements existing relationships. If you wish, we work alongside your current adviser, or we take on only the topics not yet covered there.

The next step.

If you would like more clarity about your financial situation, your plans for the future and the possibilities of the next stage of your life, we warmly invite you to take the BoomerFinance Check-Up.
